Barclays

Barclays PLC is a global financial institution in the UK. Barclays is the third largest bank in the UK. At year-end 2010, the Bank had 147,500 employees worldwide.
The bank is headquartered at Churchill Place in Canary Wharf in London's Docklands (previously to May 2005 on Lombard Street in the City of London). The headquarters of Barclays in the United States is located on Park Avenue in New York.
The bank is one of the major banks, which the Financial Stability Board (FSB) as "systemically important financial institution" were (systemically significant financial institution) classified. [2] They therefore subject to special monitoring and more stringent requirements for equity capital. [3 ]
In a 2011 study published at the ETH Zurich Barclays was described as the most influential companies in the world economy. [4]
